Monument to the soldiers who died at the 96th field hospital of the 96th Army
Listed on this memorial sign are the servicemen who died of wounds at the mobile field hospital No. 96 of the 14th Army, Karelian Front.
In the wartime years, the hospital was stationed near the frontline roads where they passed, because gravely wounded soldiers had to be taken to the rear. When the war finished, construction of new roads began, while the old ones were abandoned. It became necessary to move the cemeteries to the new roads, but that was very difficult to do. So only the names and lists were moved while the bodies were left lying in the earth. The memorial was erected in 1970 to a design by architect I. Chunin.
