Monument to the Komsomolets Nuclear Submarine

The K-278 Komsomolets Nuclear Submarine of the Soviet Navy Northern Fleet suffered an accident (fire) and sank on 7 April 1989 in the Norwegian Sea near Bear Island. Some of its crew members died, including its Commander, Rank I Captain Ye.I. Vanin.
